Liquid Polymer Activation

VeloDyne has developed the next generation of advanced polymer activation technologies, a hybrid of the two approaches. The VeloBlend hybrid polymer activation technology combines the reliability of non-mechanical mixing energy with controllable, variable speed hydromechanical mixing energy. This allows for precise control of mixing conditions, allowing you optimize the performance of any polymer available, while not relying on water pressure to do so.

Dry Polymer Activation

Polymer-particle wetting is the first step in optimizing hydration and activation of dry polymer. With this in mind, VeloDyne has developed systems that disperse and atomize the dry polymer before introducing it into the wetting chamber. This approach minimizes the time it takes for hydration and limits the potential for shear damage from extended exposure to mechanical mixing.

ProBatchTM Wetting Bowl Technology

For low polymer feed rate applications wetting bowls offer a low-cost solution to dry polymer preparation. VeloDyne’s ProBatchTM technology is designed to optimize dry polymer hydration and activation through a reliable, non-mechanical wetting bowl.

HydraMaxTM Shower Wetting Technology

For mid to high polymer feed rate applications, where higher wetting rates of dry polymer are required, pneumatic conveyance with shower type wetting optimizes polymer-particle wetting.

VeloDyne’s HydraMaxTM technology is designed to optimize dry polymer hydration and activation through a clean and reliable pneumatic conveyance system and shower type wetting head. This technology is recommended for applications requiring 5#/hour up to 1000#/hour of dry polymer.

Lime Detention Slakers

The VeloDyne’s Lime Detention Slaker is a fully automated lime system consistently producing lime slurry ranging from 5% to 25% by weight. Lime and water are fed into the slaking chamber where they are mixed by a vertical mixer. The lime slaker operator selects a desired temperature set point; the slaking water modulating valve will automatically adjust to maintain the desired temperature. The lime slurry overflows through the slaking chamber to the grit removal trough, where the large particles settle out and are removed from the process by way of an auger.
