In 2013, STUCK researchers began their design process for creating a lethal, autocidal gravid ovitrap (AGO) that targets the population of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, a vector of common mosquito-borne diseases. The goal was to create an effective AGO mosquito trap that people will use without much effort and without the use of batteries, lights, fans, pesticides or harmful chemicals; so it is safe to use indoors.
